2. The Service

Donat Chef provides private chef services for individuals and other clients, primarily in private homes and other previously agreed venues.

Depending on the agreed service, the service may include:

  • sourcing ingredients;
  • food preparation;
  • on-site cooking;
  • plating and presentation;
  • serving the food;
  • cleaning and tidying the kitchen areas and equipment used during the service.

Kitchen cleaning applies only to the areas and equipment used by Donat Chef during the service. It does not include cleaning the entire property or removing mess or dirt that existed before the service began.

3. Service Area

Donat Chef provides services in Madrid and within a maximum radius of 50 km from Madrid.

No additional travel fee is charged within this service area.

Donat Chef does not currently provide services at locations more than 50 km from Madrid.

4. Personalised Quotations

Each event is treated individually.

The final scope and price of the service are determined through a personalised quotation based on the details agreed with the client.

These details may include:

  • event date;
  • number of guests;
  • venue;
  • selected service and menu;
  • arrival time;
  • meal or dinner start time;
  • allergies and intolerances;
  • dietary requirements;
  • special requests;
  • any other relevant event details.

A booking request proceeds to confirmation only after the client has accepted the quotation and Donat Chef has approved the booking request.

5. Booking Confirmation

A booking is not confirmed until:

  1. the client has accepted the personalised quotation;
  2. Donat Chef has approved the booking request; and
  3. 50% of the total service fee has been paid successfully as a deposit.

After the event details are agreed by email or phone, Donat Chef will send the client a secure Stripe payment link by email for payment of the 50% deposit.

The booking becomes final once the deposit has been received successfully.

6. Price of the Service

The final price of the service is stated in the personalised quotation sent to the client and accepted by the client.

The quoted price applies to the agreed:

  • service;
  • menu;
  • number of guests;
  • location;
  • event details;
  • special arrangements.

If the client requests changes after the booking has been confirmed and those changes affect the scope or cost of the service, the client will be informed of any price difference in advance.

7. Payment Terms

The total service fee is paid in two instalments.

7.1 Deposit

A 50% deposit is required to confirm the booking.

The deposit is paid online by card using the Stripe payment link sent by email after the quotation has been accepted and the booking request approved.

The booking is confirmed only after successful payment of the deposit.

A separate invoice may be issued for the deposit.

7.2 Remaining Balance

The remaining 50% of the service fee is due at the end of the event, before Donat Chef leaves the venue.

The remaining balance may be paid by:

  • cash;
  • bank card;
  • bank transfer.

A final invoice will be issued following completion of the service, taking into account the deposit already paid.

8. Changes to Guest Numbers

The client must notify Donat Chef of any change to the number of guests at least 48 hours before the scheduled start of the event.

An increase or decrease in guest numbers may affect the final price.

Any resulting changes will be discussed with the client in advance.

9. Menu Changes

Changes to an already agreed menu are possible only by prior agreement.

Whether a requested change can be accommodated may depend on:

  • ingredient availability;
  • seasonality;
  • preparation time;
  • venue facilities;
  • the nature of the requested change;
  • practical feasibility.

If a menu change affects the price of the service, the client will be informed in advance.

10. Portion Sizes

Where portion sizes are indicated, they are approximate.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Half Portion: approximately suitable for 2 people;
  • Full Portion: approximately suitable for 4 people.

Displayed quantities are intended as guidance only and are not guaranteed gram-by-gram or person-by-person quantities, as portion size may vary depending on the dish and menu.

11. Allergies, Intolerances and Dietary Requirements

The client must inform Donat Chef in advance of any known:

  • food allergies;
  • food intolerances;
  • dietary requirements;
  • other relevant food-related restrictions.

The information provided must be accurate and complete.

Donat Chef will use reasonable care to accommodate declared requirements where possible, but suitability may depend on the selected menu, ingredients and venue conditions.

Information relating to allergies and intolerances is handled only to the extent necessary to organise and provide the service safely and appropriately.

12. Venue and Kitchen Requirements

The client is responsible for ensuring that the agreed venue is suitable for the service and provides a usable kitchen and the facilities required for the agreed menu.

The client should inform Donat Chef in advance of any relevant limitations, including:

  • kitchen size;
  • available equipment;
  • technical problems;
  • restrictions on the use of appliances;
  • access limitations;
  • venue-specific rules.

If the venue is materially unsuitable for the agreed service and this was not disclosed in advance, Donat Chef may need to modify the service where reasonably necessary.

13. Ingredient Sourcing

Ingredient sourcing is included as part of the service unless otherwise agreed.

The client is therefore not required to purchase the ingredients for the agreed menu.

Ingredient availability may vary according to seasonality, market availability and quality.

Where a specific ingredient is unavailable, Donat Chef may propose an appropriate alternative and will discuss any significant change with the client where practical.

14. Cleaning After the Service

At the end of the service, Donat Chef will clean and tidy the kitchen areas and equipment used during preparation and service.

This does not include:

  • cleaning the entire property;
  • cleaning unrelated rooms or areas;
  • removing pre-existing mess or dirt;
  • general housekeeping services.

15. Cancellation by the Client

15.1 Cancellation at Least 48 Hours Before the Event

If the client cancels at least 48 hours before the scheduled start of the event, the deposit will be refunded in full.

15.2 Cancellation Within 48 Hours of the Event

If the client cancels within 48 hours of the scheduled start of the event, the deposit is non-refundable.

The 48-hour period is calculated from the scheduled start time of the event.

16. Consumer Withdrawal Rights

Under Spanish consumer law, distance contracts may generally be subject to a 14-day withdrawal period.

However, certain services connected with food, catering or leisure activities provided on a specific date or during a specific period may be excluded from the general right of withdrawal.

Accordingly, where a Donat Chef service is booked for a specific date and time, the general 14-day withdrawal right may not apply.

The cancellation terms set out in these Terms and Conditions therefore apply to the booking, subject always to mandatory applicable consumer law.

17. Booking Confirmation

After the booking has been approved and the 50% deposit has been paid successfully, the client will receive confirmation electronically, normally by email.

The confirmation may include:

  • event date;
  • arrival time;
  • meal or dinner start time;
  • venue;
  • number of guests;
  • selected service and menu;
  • total service fee;
  • deposit paid;
  • remaining balance;
  • available payment methods;
  • cancellation conditions;
  • contact details.

18. Client Responsibilities

The client is responsible for:

  • providing accurate booking and contact information;
  • providing the correct event address and access details;
  • informing Donat Chef of allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements in advance;
  • ensuring the venue is suitable for the agreed service;
  • informing Donat Chef of relevant venue restrictions;
  • notifying Donat Chef of changes to guest numbers within the required timeframe;
  • paying the amounts due in accordance with the agreed payment terms.

19. Changes or Cancellation by Donat Chef

If Donat Chef is unable to provide the agreed service due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, the client will be informed as soon as reasonably possible.

Where Donat Chef cancels the booking and the service cannot be provided, any amount paid for the cancelled service will be refunded, unless another solution is agreed with the client.

Donat Chef will not be responsible for indirect losses arising from circumstances beyond reasonable control, subject to any mandatory rights available to the client under applicable law.

20. Force Majeure

Donat Chef will not be responsible for failure or delay in performing the service where this is caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control.

Such circumstances may include, where applicable:

  • serious illness or emergency;
  • extreme weather;
  • transport disruption;
  • government restrictions;
  • power or utility failures;
  • natural disasters;
  • other extraordinary events that make performance impossible or unsafe.

Where such circumstances arise, the parties will seek a reasonable solution where possible.
